BLACKWATER AND DENGIE YOUTH FOOTBALL LEAGUE

UNDER 12s BLACKWATER DIVISION LEAGUE FIXTURE

BADDOW SPARTAK TIGERS 2 HEYBRIDGE YOUTH EAGLES 4

Heybridge take all three points with an awesome display away at Baddow, with both teams in the top half of the table this was not going to be an easy game and they never are against top opposition. On a bright sunny morning and after filling in the rabbit holes the game started with both teams moving the ball around well . Chances were created by both teams as the play switched from end to end. But with Heybridge playing down the slope I felt we needed to score first and we did just that with Bradley Goodchild BRADDERS chipping the ball over the keeper, super goal. Baddow were stung into action and following some good movement which stretched Heybridge around and out of position, and a few failed clearances Baddow slotted in an equalizer .Half time one each.

Playing up the slope the instructions were to keep the ball on the deck, make the passes at the right time, lots of killer cross balls and the ball will hold up for us , and that’s exactly what happened . Baddow came out strong playing down the slope with lots of high crosses being whipped into the Heybridge area putting pressure on the Heybridge defence .Lewis Levine and Callum Perkins were strong on the left , Rhys Boy Johnson and Freddy Boy Bourne centre backs were brilliant today, working together reading the game and clearing well with some stunning clearance headers from Rhys Johnson . Danno Williams came out well, nice and loud if it was his ball, and solid in his shot stopping.

William Simsy was working hard up front and the chances would come soon for him, Jay Turbo Peperell as in the first half continued to break down the right wing with super attacking plays crossing the ball into the Baddow box, Simsy latched onto one and fired into the back of the net, two one the score .But Baddow were still not beaten and came back with another equalizer after Heybridge failed to clear in the box .It looked like a draw, although Heybridge had other ideas.

Conor Powers had been bombing down the left with strong attacks all game and was getting closer and closer to that elusive goal he has been so close in recent games was it going to happen, could he be a hero? , and yes IT HAPPENED with Luke Wheeler who had been linking up beautifully with Jay P all game on the right .Luke sent a ball down the line for Jay P to run on with , he jinked around the Baddow players and fired in a cross . This time Mr Powers gets his feet right and smashes the ball goal bound , I think the keeper managed a glove and a bit of post and it was in the net nestling in the back

A quick time check with the referee showed twelve minutes to go this was going to be edge of the seat stuff . Callum Edwards and Sam Jones (CAPTAIN) were working their socks off in the midfield trying to contain Baddow and switch the breaks for Heybridge.

All the parents were nervous, Phil was even saying a few prayers , and they were answered

Bradley Goodchild BRADDERS with another trade mark Lob, decides to chip the ball over the keeper with a stunning effort to make it four for the visitors.
